T-in-the-Park stabbing clouds spectacular success whilst two die at Norweigian Festival

A festival-goer viciously stabbed at T-in-the-Park is making "good progress" in hospital. Police report that the 22 year old man was attacked by two males after going to the aid of a female friend who had been accosted by the two. Police say they have now gathered some good forensic evidence and are increasingly confident they will trace the stabbers. They have issued descriptions of two suspects, and added that one or both of them would have had a lot of blood on their clothes after the attack. Also a man who was found dead in his tent at the festival has been named as Derek Boyle. He had told friends he was feeling ill before going back to his tent. Commenting on the dramas which have slightly overshadowed an otherwise successful year for the festival with fans delirious about headliners Rage Against The Machine, the Festival's chief Geoff Ellis told CMU Daily: "In T In The Park's 15-year history this is the first time we have had a death on-site and we are shocked and saddened to hear the news. Our thoughts are with the family at this time". Having previously said he was 'despondent' about the stabbing he added: "It was isolated, but serious. Fortunately we have a great medical team and a medical hospital on site and we were able to treat him very quickly and he's in a stable condition. Hopefully the police will catch the people responsible".

And more sad news from the Norway Rock Festival in the Norwegian area of Kvinesdal headlined by Alice Cooper where two people have died and six more have been taken to hospital, seemingly after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning from fumes being emitted from a bus they were seemingly sleeping in. The exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed, but a police spokesman told the AFP news agency: "We assume they suffocated on fumes while they were on the bus".
