New association for independent festivals launched
A group of independent festivals in the UK, headed up by the 25,000 capacity Bestival and the 40,000 capacity Creamfields, have set up the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF).
Te new group was announced at the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Independent Music (AIM), the association for independent labels in the UK. The board will be chaired by AIM chair and CEO Alison Wenham and AIF Board members include Rod da Bank from Bestival, James Barton from Creamfields, Nick Ladd from the Glade and Rob Chalice from the Summer Sundae Festival. Other member festivals involved include the Bloom Festival, Womad, The Secret Gaden Party, The Big Chill and Beautiful Days.
